This presentation will take a closer look at how the industry has mastered a volatile economic environment in the past and explore whether it will be able to continue to succeed going forward both in the near and long term.

Dr. Hensel will explore the interrelationships between national security needs, budgetary concerns, and the defense industrial base. She will discuss the impact of fiscal resources and demand on the development and production of defense products, as well as its impact on defense firms. Dr. Hensel will also highlight the role of the defense sector in the US and in the global economy.

The 60+ population is growing at an unprecedented rate across the globe and metro Atlanta has the fastest growing older adult population in the nation. This growth, the result of the relatively new phenomenon of longevity may arguably be the greatest disruptor of the 21st century. This session will review the local economic implications of longevity and discuss the policies and practices that communities can adopt to maximize the opportunities and manage the challenges this tremendous change will bring.

Rajeev Dhawan delivers his keynote presentation on the economic outlook of the United States, Georgia and the Atlanta Metro Region. Join us as he shares his views on the state of the global economy as well as employment and consumption trends and their impact on industry in Georgia. He will discuss, in particular, the implications for residential and commercial real estate in the Atlanta Metro Region.
