Dr. Jan Hogrefe is Chief Economist for Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA). In this role he leads analyses of global macroeconomic developments for BCA. He works with BCA leaders and customers on identifying and assessing the economic trends that shape the global aviation industry. Prior to joining Boeing in 2014, he worked at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Germany, leading economic policy consulting projects for governmental and private institutions from across Europe – mostly with a focus on issues regarding macroeconomics and international trade. Jan holds a doctorate degree in economics from the University of Tuebingen, Germany, has published several articles in international scientific journals, and frequently speaks at various economic conferences and industry events. | |
Nayantara Hensel Former Chief Economist Department of the Navy |
Dr, Nayantara Hensel recently authored The Defense Industrial Base: Strategies for a Changing World, as well as has written over 50 articles and research reports. She has served as the Chief Economist for the Department of the Navy, as well as has served as Senior Manager and Chief Economist for Ernst & Young’s litigation advisory group. She has taught at Harvard University, the Stern School of Business at New York University (NYU), the Naval Postgraduate School, and National Defense University, and has also served as the Pentagon Scholar in Residence. Dr Hensel was awarded the Department of Defense Joint Civilian Service Commendation Medal in 2013. She received her BA, MA, and PhD from Harvard University, where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa and specialized in finance and economics. She has served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Business Economists (NABE) and the National Economists Club (NEC), and has served as the Chair of the NABE Industry Survey and the Chair of the NABE Outlook Survey. Dr Hensel is an elected member of NBEIC and the Conference of Business Economists. | |
Kathryn Lawler Executive Director Atlanta Regional Collaborative for Health Improvement |
Kathryn Lawler serves as the Executive Director for the Atlanta Regional Collaborative for Health Improvement (ARCHI). As an interdisciplinary coalition with almost 100 member organizations, ARCHI works to enhance the economic vitality of metropolitan Atlanta by improving the health and wellbeing of its residents.Kathryn’s 20 year career has focused on cross-sector interventions to address complex social problems. From her earliest days as a case worker in downtown Atlanta, her graduate school research and her tenure in a variety of roles at the Atlanta Regional Commission, she has worked to bring together transportation, housing and healthcare systems to support vulnerable populations. Most recently she led a large team as Manager of the Aging and Health Resources Division and Director of the Area Agency on Aging for metro Atlanta, providing expertise in the challenges and opportunities of longevity, developing new policies and programs, publishing articles and giving extensive presentations on the topics of aging in place, demographic change, long term services and supports and health systems reform. Kathryn holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree from Harvard University. |
