Robert Fry Senior Economist DuPont |
Robert Fry is Senior Economist for DuPont. Mr. Fry joined DuPont in 1984 in Wilmington, Del., as an economist in Conoco's Coordinating and Planning Department. In 1987, he transferred to DuPont as associate economist in the DuPont Economist's Office.In 1993 and 1994, he was a fixed income analyst for DuPont Pension Fund Investment (now DuPont Capital Management). Mr. Fry returned to the Economist's Office and was named to his current position on Nov. 1, 1994. Mr. Fry is a member of the board of directors of the National Association for Business Economics, a member of the Conference of Business Economists, and one of DuPont's two representatives on the board of directors of the Charter School of Wilmington. He received a bachelor's degree in economics from Ohio University and a master's and Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University. |
Nayantara Hensel Professor of Industry and Business National Defense University |
Dr. Nayantara Hensel is Professor of Industry and Business at National Defense University in Washington DC. She previously served as the Chief Economist for the Department of the Navy and provided economic guidance on defense industrial base issues, growth projections, the federal budget, interest rates, unemployment, exchange rates, inflation, the financial health of defense contractors, as well as trends in the broader economy and in the defense sector. Dr. Hensel received her BA, MA, and Ph.D. from Harvard University, where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa and specialized in finance and economics. She has taught at Harvard University, the Stern School of Business at New York University (NYU), and the US Naval Postgraduate School’s Graduate School of Business and Public Policy, in addition to serving as the Pentagon Scholar in Residence. In the private sector, Dr. Hensel previously served as Senior Manager and Chief Economist for Ernst & Young’s litigation advisory group, managing economist for the New York City office of the Law and Economics Consulting Group (LECG), an economist in the economic consulting arm of Marsh & McLennan. Dr. Hensel has written over 30 articles and research reports. She has published in the International Journal of Managerial Finance, the Review of Financial Economics, Business Economics, the European Financial Management Journal, the Journal of Financial Transformation, and Harvard Business School Working Knowledge. Dr. Hensel has presented her work at a variety of institutions, including the Federal Reserve Banks in Chicago, Dallas, Boston, and Cleveland, the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, Department of Justice, the US Treasury, and RAND, as well as universities, such as London Business School, and Harvard University. Dr. Hensel is an elected member of the National Business Economics Issues Council (NBEIC) and is on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Business Economists (NABE) and on the Board of Directors for the National Economists Club (NEC). |
James Diffley Senior Director IHS Global Insight |
James Diffley is Senior Director of IHS Global Insight’s U.S. Regional Services Group, with overall responsibility for U.S. Regional Services. Since 1998, he has supervised the quarterly economic forecast of the 50 states and over 300 metropolitan areas of the United States. He regularly makes presentations of these regional economic forecasts and analysis to clients, conferences, governmental bodies, and the press. He is also responsible for numerous customized consulting projects. These have included economic policy analysis, tax revenue forecasts, and numerous local economic impact studies. In 1999, Mr. Diffley led the team which produced the long-term projection of cigarette consumption which served as the basis for the issuance of tobacco settlement securitization bonds by New York City. Since that time his report has appeared on over 90 tobacco settlement securitizations. Mr. Diffley joined WEFA, the predecessor of Global Insight, in 1997 after nine years with the New Jersey Department of Treasury. He did his Ph.D. training in economics at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. |
